I have walked in your shoes
In an earlier career, I had the privilege of working for three leading Irish organisations in strategically different HR management roles. Through each of the stages of recession, restructuring and recovery I learned, first hand, what it was like to be a manager in good times and bad, with big teams and small, with challenges and opportunities.
I discovered how easy it is to get sucked into managing the day-to-day priorities of getting results and, at the same time, how important it is to keep an eye on the road ahead so that you’re ready for the future. I discovered what a total joy it is to develop other people but, at the same time, how important it is not to lose sight of yourself. Most importantly, I discovered a real respect for the job of managers and leaders and a desire to help them become the best they can be and this is what I do today.
I have made that leap
I know it’s easy to say “I’m passionate about leadership and management development” and it’s the kind of thing everyone says but, believe me, it’s true. One wet, wintry morning in January 2007, I resigned from my job to set up my own training and coaching business, you could say, without a safety net. A few people thought I was mad. I didn’t take the career break I could have, I didn’t wait until there was a golden opportunity being handed to me, I just knew this was the time. This was what I needed to do.
I’m so glad I did
Since then, I have had the pleasure of working with hundreds of managers in helping them to discover who they are as leaders and managers, how to communicate their vision and ideas, develop their relationships, bring out the best in their teams – how to make a total impact in their careers.

“Paddy Lavelle has worked with the Irish Rugby Football Union for the last four years in both a training and coaching capacity, helping managers and staff to handle challenging conversations as part of their role and to present and speak with impact in more formal situations.
Her training and coaching programmes are always specifically tailored to the needs of her specific audience, are very engaging and result in instilling significant confidence in trainees in addition to providing practical skills development. I would recommend Paddy to any organization wishing to inspire and develop confidence in managers and employees in their dealings with people”.

“I have been working with Paddy for just over 2 years now. In that time she has proven herself as a highly competent and professional trainer and executive coach. She came recommended by Sport Ireland originally and we have asked her to return on countless occasions to facilitate various leadership, management and teambuilding workshops as well as her services as a coach. Paddy is passionate about what she does and give her clients 110%. I would recommend Paddy’s professional services to companies both corporate, sporting or otherwise and looking forward to continuing to work with her in the future.”
Michelle McDonnell, HR Manager, Leinster Rugby
“Paddy has worked with our team on a number of occasions and has impressed at every stage of the process. Her personal style is very engaging, endearing her to our whole team and gaining their trust throughout. She is clearly an excellent facilitator and coach. Paddy has brought a new vitality and perspective to the team which has greatly enhanced our performance. She is also working on further projects with us as a result of her previous success with our team”.
Liam Harbison, Director, Sport Ireland Institute
“Paddy is incredible. She employs an empathetic yet no-nonsense approach to helping you face your own demons and barriers to infinite possibilities.
From the initial phone call to our face-to-face meetings, Paddy and I connected right off the bat. I screened several coaches and mentors before making the investment, and I am so glad I went with Paddy. With other coaches, I came across some very inconsistent packages that didn't even include one-on-one meetings in person. With Paddy, she makes you feel like her biggest priority right from the start. Everything, from our in-person meeting locations to the type of guidance I needed, was completely catered to my individual needs.
My main objective when I reached out to Paddy was to gain insights on how to create and deliver persuasive presentations that had a strategic business focus that would lead to a successful outcome. From our down-to-earth conversations, I ended up exploring options I know I would never have thought up on my own which really helped me unleash my potential. Paddy is an absolute pleasure to work with, and I honestly feel I could meet with her indefinitely and get so much value every single session. With that being said. I would have no hesitation in recommending Paddy to any perspective clients”.
Paul Gaskin – Global Head of Customer Support at Daon

Paddy's delivery and style was both highly entertaining and engaging as she showed how to relate to an audience in a way that is relevant and tailored to their needs. Her knowledge is totally relevant to today's business and job market, leaving her audience knowing exactly what to do to excel in a competitive environment. Paddy is also the person you want to know, and you want to keep coming back for more”.

“I have worked with Paddy Lavelle on different career placement projects which required a coach who, not only had a strong professional background and experience in helping Managers to successfully transition from career to another, but who also had excellent people skills.
